June 28th 2022 meeting at the Event Center in Ellet.

Member Jack Evans introduced our scholarship award winner from Mogadore. His presentation of the "wow", as always, was impressive to hear. Ron Whitmer officially delivered the scholarship check. This bright student athlete has a big future ahead for her. This recipient and her family could not be with us at the Outstallation where other scholarships are awarded, but we were grateful to have them for the meeting.

Maureen Hollowell, advocate for persons with disabilities, spoke to the group about how she tuned into the needs of the disability community through a need in her personal life. She also touched upon on later steps in her journey have been heavily directed by staying informed through the people she serves (a repeating Rotary theme). We also heard how many of the changes brought about by the ADA have benefited people beyond those who are thought of as "disabled", such as mothers with strollers using curb cuts and seniors keeping connected through captioning (ADA requirements originally only thought to benefit a minority of people).

Turnout was well above average this day, we even had to add an extra table or two to the room. Thank you to everyone in attendance that made Ron's last weekly meeting as Presdient a special day.
